Two Stupid Dogs.....

is a cartoon I never really liked, except for that episode with the Little Red Riding Hood as guest star!

I have two stupid dogs living with me and my family! They've always been al little weird, the oldest one, a Dachshund at age fourteen, he died this spring. Had a thing for marking territory inside, naturally where you walk, which is why I stoped matching my socks! I simpley had'nt time to look for the ”missing partner” of the socks a hundred times because you accidently stepped in his.... when you run around like crazy in your normal morning rush. He also liked to see how much he was in charge of the family by standing infront of the door and bark! Barking, and barking.... until someone finally couldn't stand out with his barking any more and let him out. When you had closed the door he used to turn around and started barking again! Until someone opened the door to let him in! He could spend the whole eavning doing that! Especially if his caretaker, my stepfather wasn't home......You see he wanted to go to bed and his caretaker was going to go to bed at the same time, that was the normal order and it was not to be broken, and if it was, and his caretaker refused to come home when he was calling for him, our Dachshund could spend a whole night barking and barking! Luckily we live on the countryside...................................

Anyway he died this spring, he caused himself a heart attack actually! How ironic! Not barking outside the door, as you may think! You see he had a thing for being angry with one of our other dogs the Lapponian herder. He was always trying to pick a fight with him, a much younger, bigger, stronger and smarter dog. As you may see the Lapponian herder always won the fights while the Dachshund used to pick them! And when trying to pick that last fight, he caused himself a heart attack! And despite how difficult he could be as a dog, we do miss him!

Anyway back to the two stupid dogs a female Dachshund and the Lapponian herder. The female Dachshund has a thing for riding along in the car, and if she's not allowed to go with us, for some reason example the weather is too hot, too cold, or we're just planning to be gone for a very long time and they can't stay in the car all that time, she goes pretty mad. And has a tendency to ignore the person who denied her that ride! And she does'nt like stranger either, especially if she's in the car. She has actually bit, or more like snapped at people whoom she finds ”unworthy” to enter her car! She usually doesn't snap or bite at all. If there is a person she doesen't like in the house, she walks to her caretakers' desk in his office, and barks for houers!

The Lapponian herder is the smartest dog I have ever encountered. He used to run away and take walks on his own, chase cars, cyclists or whatever crossed his way...........So we built him a fence, since the other dogs seemed to behave. A real ”fort knox” we built just for him, to keep him inside! Anyway he was the only dog who always managed to break out! You could turn your back on him for a second or two, and he would just be gone. And when you discovered that he suddenly was on the wrong side of the fence. You called for him! But no! He didn't want to come so he used to take off, and you had to chase him! But it took you too long to get out of ”Fort knox” so he was gone when you finally had made it out! He was very sly too, don't think he'd let you know where he got out, if you were looking at him he just played along... until you turned around a lost your focus on him.....

And these stupid dogs has become more stupid since the loss of the old dog! The have started howling! Especially if you leave them alone! It's almost as if they are afraid that the old dog will start haunting the house and don't want to be left alone! This Easter Eve when we came home from town, they ran outside, stoped by the flagstaff and started howling together in a choir! At the flagstaff! For absolute no reason at all!

When you are fpr example calling for the cats and accidently stretch the vocals, they can suddenly accompany you! And yesterday I gave them frozen bones with meat. Which they usually just throw themself over and almost swallows. But this time the Lapponian herder went off digging his one down and digged up an older half dry and rutten bone to feast on instead! While the dachshund put hers in the sun and waited for it to defrost (never seen her do that before!). After which she hides in inte the grass, and I will not notice until I run it over with the lawn mower...(it was pretty high grass)......WHY! That's just so stupid why not eat it while it's still fresh and tasty!
